AUsome AUtism Families was founded with a mission to provide services and support for young children with autism through diagnosis, therapy, advocacy, educational support, and family support. We also offer Play and Language for Autistic Youngsters (PLAY) services.
Play and Language for Autistic Children (PLAY) is an evidenced-based, DIR (Developmental, Individual-differences, Relationship-based model), intensive developmental intervention program for young children aged six months to six years. It is an evidence based personalized coaching program for families. The PLAY Project is an essential foundational step in treating autism in children. The PLAY Project was designed as a cost effective, practical therapeutic approach in response to the lack of availability of intensive early intervention services for children with ASD.
At the core of the program is the evidence that PLAY Project helps parents and caregivers become a partner in their child’s development, leading to successful child and parent outcomes. It offers a reliable standard of care model for community systems to meet the autism intervention needs of the growing number of children.
Our Director has spent 35 years working as an Early Childhood Special Educator, Developmental Therapist, PLAY Project Consultant, Kindergarten teacher, advocate and parent educator. Therapists have worked in both public and Independent schools as well as not-for profit agencies. We welcome the opportunity to discuss with you how we may support your child and family.
